Physical and Mechanical Properties of Ceramic Tile Based on the Clay – Dune Sand Composition
The article examines the physical, mechanical, and technological properties of ceramic tiles based on Kulatau clay and dune sands from the Tuprakkala massif in the lower Amudarya region of Uzbekistan. Laboratory and semi-production tests revealed that the optimal composition M-7, fired at temperatures of 1000 – 1050°C, can be used to produce unglazed cladding and floor tiles. Similarly, the optimal composition M-9 fired at temperatures of 1000 – 1050°C, can be used to produce facing and cladding tiles with an opaque glaze.
