Fifty effects were used to estimate the impact of RS training on initial sprint speed. Based on the cumulative results from these studies, RS training yielded a small improvement in acceleration but was not different from same volume of UR training (Hedges' d Effect Size=0.11, 95% CI: -0.01 to 0.23; p=0.08).
