The report highlights the importance of a greater degree of suspicion of vitamin D deficiency in children with co-existing ASD and food allergies. Non-specific symptoms related to hypocalcaemia can be difficult to evaluate in non-verbal patients. A thorough dietary history is an essential part of the care of children with ASD.
