It was shown that prodigiozan stimulated bactericidal activity of phagocytes, amplified macrophage fungicidity, and decreased neutrophil fungicidity in respect to the dermatophytes. Propranolol increased the prodigiozan capacity for stimulation of the oxygen-dependent metabolism of phagocytes and absorption and inactivation of staphylococci.
