The field of Synthetic Biology is both practically and philosophically reliant on the idea of BioParts-concrete DNA sequences meant to represent discrete functionalities. In practice, researchers often find BioParts in an ad hoc way. We present PartCrafter, a tool which extracts and aggregates genomic feature data in order to facilitate the search for new BioParts with specific functionalities.
