Black Box is a powerful book that helps social work educators clearly explain to their students about why the personal is political and must remain so. It encourages social work practitioners and scholars to remember to look at the environment of the individuals and collaboratively challenge the status quo. It is also a reminder that institutional injustices have enormous impacts on those who are vulnerable and oppressed in society. Finally, it reminds the reader that the voice of the survivor is vital to bring about change.
