Its pathogenesis and mechanism have not been identified. Studies indicate that an individual carrying certain genotypes of susceptibility gene has a higher risk of AD. With the completion of the Human Genome Project and the development of genome-wide association studies(GWAS), a series of susceptibility genes associated with late-onset AD (LOAD) have been discovered. Research progresses in the genetic susceptibility of late-onset Alzheimer's disease
