In this case, we are going to analyze how “death” and “identity” are conceived in the video game Final Fantasy IX. Our objetive, then, will be analyzing death within the story and, from this analysis, we will see how the characters’ identities are build. To do this, we will base our study in the field of semiotics, regarding both visual and sociological aspects, as the construction of identity is linked with the visual elements of the game and in contact with death and sociological relations.
