The variables that had a direct effect included private tutoring, child’s age and gender, pre-school attendance, school type, household size, household head gender and education level. The variables that had an indirect effect through private tutoring were region of residence, school type and household head education level. 摘要

学业成绩低所表现出的小学教育质量低一直是乌干达教育部门面临的挑战。尽管该国在改善其他教育指标方面取得了进展,但这并没有转化为更好的教育成果。因此,本研究试图确定私人辅导对英语识字水平的意义。该研究利用了2014年乌干达国家学习评估调查的二次数据和广义结构方程模型来确定重要的预测因素。产生直接影响的变量包括私人辅导、儿童的年龄和性别、学前教育出勤率、学校类型、家庭规模、户主性别和教育水平。通过私人辅导产生间接影响的变量是居住地区、学校类型和户主教育水平。该研究指出,政府有必要通过教育部制定一个监管框架来管理和控制私人行为。
