The functions $S_{\\alpha}$ and $S_{\\alpha}^*$ respectively generalize the functions $S$ and $S_{*}$ introduced and studied by J. Sándor [5] as well as the functions $G$ and $G_{*}$ considered by N. Anitha [1].
