Rome Awards: The works of Gerald of Wales

one of the dominant emotions that has driven feminist campaigning has been a sense of loneliness. I am enormously grateful to the BSR for the opportunity to undertake this archival research, for the formative encounters with an energising community of researchers and artists, and for the access to a beautiful library in which to interpret my findings. Shortly after the end of my Rome Award I took up a postdoctoral position with an AHRC-funded project on feminist periodicals where I will build upon my BSR research, which has already helped to define the central theme of the project’s co-authored monograph on networks of feelings in women’s movement magazines 1968–present day.
