This study investigates the extent and impact of shoplifting in shopping malls in Istanbul, Turkey. Data collection was based on 389 face-to-face interviews with store managers and shopping mall managers in Istanbul. The results revealed that shoplifting is a serious crime for all retail sectors and sizes of shopping malls.
