The study revealed that the urban population of Sambalpur City witnessed an increasing trend over the last five decades (1971-2011). At the same time, the land use pattern of the city showed increasing trends for residential, industrial, and transportation areas because of urbanization. The study further revealed that most street vendors were illiterate, and their daily income was less than `500.
