Anthracosia Shales within the Pennsylvanian-Lower Permian continental succession from the Intra-Sudetic Synclinorium are lacustrine sediments, represented by black shales intercalated with sandstones/mudstones. Mineral composition of each lithology consists o f quartz, feldspar, mica, clay minerals (including kaolinite, the content o f which decreases upward the sec­ tion), and carbonates (calcite and siderite). The section is a continuous record of reduction and rise in terrigenous input. Mineral detritus is least weathered in the uppermost part of the Anthracosia Shales.
