Antibacterial testing was carried out using agar diffusion method to identify the effect of chitosan against Gram-positive bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus). The results showed that the use of 1% (w/v) chitosan by spraying method tends to be more effective in improving the antibacterial properties of vegetable tanned leather. While, the leather sample of drum impregnation at initial pH 4 has the lowest antibacterial activity among others. 摘要

植物鞣皮革中丰富的羟基(-OH)增加了细菌生长的可能性。本工作利用壳聚糖的抗菌活性,研制了抗菌植物鞣革。采用不同的壳聚糖利用方法,即转鼓浸渍法和喷雾法。采用琼脂扩散法进行抗菌试验,以确定壳聚糖对革兰氏阳性菌(金黄色葡萄球菌)的抗菌作用。结果表明,1%(w/v)壳聚糖的喷雾法对提高植物鞣革的抗菌性能更为有效。而初始pH为4的滚筒浸渍皮革样品的抗菌活性最低。FTIR分析结果表明,对照和壳聚糖改性鞣皮之间没有显著差异,证实了它们之间的官能团相似。
