Medal Winners of the National Sculpture Society: 89th Annual Awards Exhibition
The National Sculpture Society prides itself in having a membership of sculptors with diverse talents, backgrounds, and styles, and considering the three top prize winners of the 89th Annual, this statement is no less true for them. The Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medals went to artists working in different media, with varying interests and personal histories, and whose lives span several cultural generations. Their work captures the likes of a sensuous dancer trapped in marble, bronze acrobats spinning in a tight orb, and traveling companions walking an abandoned steel railway. The material and subject matter express a great range of talent from these sculptors of different ages. However, what sets these artists apart also unites them—each of the prize winners imbue in their work a worldliness in topic, a familiarity of experience, excellence in technique, and an undeniable love for sculpture.
