PREFACE: INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON HEAT TRANSFER, FLUID MECHANICS AND THERMODYNAMICS 2012
This issue ofComputational Thermal Sciences contains some of the papers which were presented at HEFAT2012: The International Conference on Heat Transfer, Fluid Mechanics, and Thermodynamics, held on 16–18 July 2012 on Malta. At the conference, a total of 270 papers were read, including six keynote papers. From these papers, approximately 20 authors were invited to submit papers (most of the papers were amended since presentation) for consideration to be published in this journal. After being peer-reviewed, 14 papers were accepted for publication as two issues of this journal. Previous conferences in this series took place in the Kruger National Park, South Africa (2002), Victoria Falls, Zambia (2003), Cape Town (2004), Cairo (2005), Sun City (2006), Pretoria (2008), Antalya (2010), and Mauritius (2011). The goal of the HEFAT conferences is to provide a forum at which specialists in heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and thermodynamics from all corners of the globe can present the latest progress and developments in the field.
