People need to be empowered to reduce poverty, stop rural to urban migration and afford basic power. Cheaper optional DC powered domestic devices could be made available by manufacturers. Expensive power inversion (inverters) and transmission systems are unnecessary in this case. High-tech qualified professionals are not required for installations and operations of simple solar PV systems.
