Influence of Methyl Methacrylate on Mouse Fibroblast L929 Cells, as Assessed by Systemic Gene Expression Profiling
9 INTRODUCTION In dentistry, many kind of resin-based materials are developed. Dental resin monomers are having been widely used in restorative materials, adhesives, artificial teeth, and denture base materials, and so on. These materials have not only clinical success, but also biological effects. For example, their effects are reported, such as occupational skin disease, allergic contact dermatitis, or irritant contact dermatitis 3, . The major monomers have been identified as the cytotoxic compound, and a relationship between the structural and biological activities of monomers has been reported . A number of recent studies have assessed the cellular and genetic toxicity of dental resin monomers. Numerous studies have also found that apoptosis was induced in the presence of some monomers.Apoptosis has been described in several cell lines after exposure to eluates of composite materials and polymethacrylates 9, . It has Influence of Methyl Methacrylate on Mouse Fibroblast L929 Cells, as Assessed by Systemic Gene Expression Profiling
