The range of recognised phenotypes associated with PSP has expanded significantly in recent years. Imaging markers can assist in the diagnosis of PSP, while novel imaging modalities and laboratory-based biomarkers offer hope for earlier and more accurate diagnosis. While no disease modifying treatments are yet available several therapies may be useful in ameliorating symptoms.
