Non experimental research design was adopted for this study. The study was conducted among 100 people in Kerala. In order to assess the knowledge of disaster preparedness and mitigation among people in Kerala the study sample was selected by purposive sampling techniques. Data collection was done through Google form consisted of demographic proforma and structured questionnaire. Questionnaire is shared to 100 participants and 30 min was given for answering the questions, scores of each participant is recorded individually in spreadsheet. After attending the questionnaire an instructional module was given to them through Watsapp. The result showed that 13% of people had good knowledge regarding disaster preparedness and mitigation, 80% had moderate knowledge and 7% had poor knowledge, regarding disaster preparedness and mitigation. In this study there is association found between knowledge and demographic variables such as education. There is no association between knowledge and other demographic variables like age, caste, economic status, area of residence.
