Abstract:Considering the impact of Darwinian anthropology on the cultural context surrounding the publication of Anthony Trollope’s Phineas novels, this article focuses on the intersecting issues of Phineas Finn’s and Marie Goesler’s contested ethnicities and ultimate infertility.
