In the literature, extensive text classification schemes were proposed to classify text documents into predefined categories. Even though, most studies in this problem were conducted for English texts while very little studies were conducted for the Arabic language. This paper provides a review for text classification process, particularly for Arabic documents. As well, it presents the most important techniques used in the process of documents classification.
