This paper presents the enhancement of voltage stability in the power system using a Genetic Algorithm (GA). The GA approach is used to find the optimal value of control variables such as generator bus voltage, shunt capacitance, and transformer tap setting which are the source of reactive power. The GA was executed via MATLAB programming with MATPOWER. The propounded method was tested on the western grid of Bhutan to minimize the real power losses. The results demonstrate improved voltage stability in the power system and a significant reduction in power losses. The results will help Power System Operators to make a better decision while encountering voltage issues in their power lines. 摘要

电力系统应保证向用户提供安全、稳定的电力。为了安全运行,电压应在期望的范围内,否则将导致电压崩溃和功率损失。提高电压的稳定性,将提高电力系统的能力、经济性、可靠性,减少电力损耗。由于电压的稳定性是由电网的无功功率决定的,因此需要提供无功电源来保障电力系统的稳定。提出了一种利用遗传算法增强电力系统电压稳定性的方法。利用遗传算法求出作为无功源的发电机母线电压、并联电容和变压器分接整定等控制变量的最优值。采用MATLAB编程软件MATPOWER执行遗传算法。提出的方法在不丹西部电网上进行了试验,以最大限度地减少实际电力损耗。结果表明,该方法提高了电力系统的电压稳定性,并显著降低了功率损耗。研究结果将有助于电力系统操作员在遇到电力线电压问题时做出更好的决策。此外,本研究对今后处理类似研究,特别是计算FACT装置无功补偿的最佳位置具有指导意义。
