Medicinal plants play an important role in both herbal medicine and modern pharmaceuticals. Pongamia pinnata (P. pinnata) has been recognized in different schemes of herbal medication for the treatment of a variety of diseases and ailments in humans. It comprises a variety of phytoconstituents and has a broad variety of pharmacological properties. Because of its thick network of lateral roots, it is a favored plant for managing earth corrosion and connecting sand mounds.
