Efficacy and safety of surgical resection of parotid benign tumor with small incision under earlobe

Objective To study the efficacy and safety of surgical resection of parotid benign tumor with small incision under earlobe. Methods A total of 84 cases of parotid benign tumor treated in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Henan University of Science and Technology from January 2015 to December 2018. The patients were divided into observation group and control group according to random number table method, with 42 cases in each group. The observation group was treated with small-incision tumor resection under earlobe, while the control group was treated with traditional operation. The operative indexes, complications were compared between the two groups. Results After operation, the observation group were superior to the control group in operation time, hospitalization time, incision length, intraoperative blood loss and total postoperative drainage, the differences were significant (P 0.05). Conclusions Compared to conventional surgery, parotid benign tumor resection has small incision under earlobe and less complication.
