A Brief Discussion of How to Make Use of the Backbone Role of Patrol (Special) Police in Handling Mass Security Incidents

In recent years, as China’s political system and economic system reforms have continually deepened, various social conflicts have increased, and the number of mass incidents such as petitioning demands, illegal assemblies, protests, and demonstrations caused by land requisitioning and development, demolitions and relocation, labor and capital, and financial risks has increased every year, directly affecting social stability. Therefore, as the main forces for handling mass security incidents, how patrol (special) police squads can fully make use of their important role is a new topic that requires our in-depth research. This paper focuses on analyzing the basic features of mass security events, explores issues that exist in patrol (special) police handling mass security incidents, and makes recommendations on how patrol (special) police can play a role in handling mass security incidents.
