The gas detection based on spectroscopy has the characteristics of high sensitivity, good reliability and strong anti-cross interference ability. It is a suitable detection scheme for applications in the power industry. In this paper, theoretical and experimental researches on the infrared characteristics of SO<inf>2</inf>F<inf>2</inf> and SOF<inf>2</inf> are carried out. The detection bands that can be used for the detection of the two decomposition components are analyzed.
