After a brief overview of Industry 4.0 addressed in the introduction, the paper presents the concept of smart manufacturing, where the role of 5G connection, Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), and digital twin is explained. Next, a conceptual model of the smart manufacturing company configuration is proposed, with examples from the Bosch company.
