Yalçın","doi":"10.17099/JFFIU.09338","DOIUrl":null,"url":null,"abstract":"Surface glossiness properties of impregnated with some plant tannins and varnished wooden material Abstract: In this study, beech woods (Fagus orientalis L.) were subjected to coating process with polyurethane, cellulosic and water-based varnishes after impregnated with mimosa (Acacia mollissima) and quebracho (Shinopsis lorentzii) extracts at 5%, and 10% concentration levels and Tanalith-E at %4.5. The changes in surface glossiness were investigated after accelerated weathering for 100 and 300 hours. According to the obtained results, the highest glossiness values for before and after accelarated weathering were obtained untreated control samples. Also, the surface glossiness values were decreased with the accelerated weathering the except for polyurethane varnish. The best result for varnishes types in terms of glossiness have been obtained in polyurethane varnish. The surface glossiness of polyurethane gave higher values when the weathering period reached 100 hours as compared before weathering. When the concentration levels of tannis reached from 5% to 10%, the glossiness values were decreased in certain rates. When the wood materials that impregnated with mimosa and quebracho extracts applied to polyurethane varnish, they can be maintained both durability and surface glossiness for a longer time. Elde edilen sonuclara gore, yaslandirma oncesi ve yaslandirma sorasi en yuksek parlaklik degerleri emprenye edilmemis kontrol orneklerinde elde edilmistir. Ayrica poliuretan vernigi haricinde genel olarak yaslandirma islemi ile birlikte vernik yuzeylerindeki parlaklik degerlerinde azalma meydana gelmistir. Vernik cesitleri icerisinde en iyi parlaklik degerleri poliuretan verniginde elde edilmistir. 100 saat yaslandirma islemine tabi tutulan poliuretan vernikli deney ornekleri kontrol orneklerine gore daha yuksek parlaklik degeri vermistir. Tanenler ile emprenye edilen orneklerde konsantrasyon seviyesi %5’ten %10’a arttirildiginda parlaklik degerlerinde belli oranlarda azalma gorulmustur. Bu sonuclara gore, mimoza ve kebrako ekstraktlari ile emprenye edilen agac malzemeler poliuretan vernigi uygulanarak hem dayanikliliklari hem de yuzey parlakliklari uzun sure korunabilir.
