Thisstudy investigates the evolutionary divergence of the SLC11a1 gene in domesticated farm animals.SLC11a1 gene sequences of domesticated farm animals were retrieved from NCBI GenBank. Theresults of this study revealed that there was substantial genetic variation in aligned sequences of theSLC11a1 gene within selected species. One ns-mutation (Q312K) was found in this study which isharmful.
