Sorbents belonging to the type of expandable structural stratum minerals include montmorillonite and vermiculite, which form the basis of bentonite clays. Bentonites are clays which compose mainly of minerals belonging to the group of montmorillonite and sometimes called stonesoap. Navbahor alkaline bentonite deposit is located in Navbahr district of Navoi region of Uzbekistan Republic. The current proven reserves of the deposit are more than 7142.6 thousand tons. Montmorillonite is mainly the most effective adsorbent for various compounds and water purification.
