Journal of Xiangnan University (bimonthly) was founded in 1980. It is a comprehensive academic journal under the supervision of Hunan Provincial Department of Education and sponsored by Xiangnan University. It is publicly distributed at home and abroad. The 1st, 3rd, 4th and 6th issues are social sciences, and the 2nd and 5th issues are natural sciences. The main columns of social sciences are: Chenzhou Zongheng, Political Research, History and Law Research, Literature Research, Linguistics Research, etc. The main columns of natural sciences are: Basic Theory Research, Engineering and Technology, Regional Economy and Management, etc.
