Petroleum Geology and Experiment is a Chinese core journal, published bimonthly, on the 28th of odd months. The journal is sponsored by the Petroleum Exploration and Development Research Institute of Sinopec Corporation and the Petroleum Geology Professional Committee of the Geological Society of China. The journal is an academic and technical journal that reports on the results of oil and gas surveys, exploration and development in my country and reflects the research level in the field of petroleum geology and engineering in my country. The journal is closely linked to the development strategy of my country's petroleum industry, focusing on reporting and analyzing the hot and difficult issues of oil and gas exploration involved in the upstream of the petroleum industry, and focusing on reporting the latest technologies and methods of oil and gas experimental testing at home and abroad. The readers are scientific and technological workers and students majoring in petroleum and natural gas geology at home and abroad. There are three regular columns: Basin Reservoirs, Petroleum Geochemistry and Methods and Technologies.

《石油实验地质》为中文核心期刊，双月刊，单月28日出版。该期刊由中国石油化工股份有限公司石油勘探开发研究院、中国地质学会石油地质专业委员会主办。该期刊是一份报道我国油气普查、勘探及开发成果，反映我国石油地质与工程领域研究水平的学术性、技术性刊物。期刊紧密结合我国石油工业的发展战略，以石油工业上游所涉及的油气勘探的热点、难点问题为重点进行报道和分析，同时重点报道国内外油气实验测试的最新技术和方法。读者对象为国内外石油天然气地质专业的科技工作者及在校学生等。常设有3个栏目：盆地油藏、石油地球化学和方法技术。
