Founded on 28 October 1956, Film Art (a bimonthly journal) is the first academic journal specialising in film criticism and film theory research in New China, sponsored by the China Filmmakers Association. Using its long history, academic seriousness, and theoretical achievements, the journal has long enjoyed a good reputation both at home and abroad. Using the study of Chinese cinema as its foundation, the journal pays close attention to the current development trend of Chinese cinema, comprehensively and professionally describes the creative and theoretical trajectory of contemporary Chinese cinema, timely presents the latest achievements and creative experience of Chinese cinema, studies the historical materials of Chinese cinema in various stages of its history, and digs deep into the thought/culture behind world cinema. Film Art is a source journal of Chinese Social Science Citation Index (CSSCI), a core journal of Chinese humanities and social sciences journals with AMI Comprehensive Evaluation, an authoritative core journal of RCCSE (A+), a national Chinese core journal, a core journal of Chinese science and technology (social sciences volume), and an excellent academic journal of 2020 China's International Influence.

《电影艺术》（双月刊）创刊于1956年10月28日，是中国电影家协会主办的新中国第一家专事电影评论、电影理论研究的学术期刊。本刊以其历史的悠久、学术的严肃、理论的建树、在国内外久享盛誉。该刊以研究中国电影为本，密切关注中国电影当下的发展动向，全面、专业地描述当代中国电影的创作及理论轨迹，并及时展现中国电影的最新成就及创作经验，研究中国电影各个历史阶段的史料，深入挖掘世界电影背后的思想/文化。 《电影艺术》杂志为中文社会科学引文索引（CSSCI）来源期刊，中国人文社科期刊AMI 综合评价核心期刊，RCCSE 权威核心（A+）期刊，全国中文核心期刊，中国科技核心期刊（社会科学卷），2020 中国国际影响力优秀学术期刊。
