《林草资源研究》是由国家林业和草原局主管、由国家林业和草原局林草调查规划院主办、经国家新闻出版署批准公开发行的综合性科技期刊，创刊于1979年，创刊时刊名为《林业调查规划》，1985年更名为《林业资源管理》，2023年10月起更名为《林草资源研究》。国内统一连续出版物号为CN 10-1911/S，国际标准连续出版物号为ISSN 2097-3438。《林草资源研究》自创办以来，连续九次入选中文核心期刊；入选中国农林核心期刊、RCCSE中国核心学术期刊、《中国学术期刊影响因子年报》统计源期刊；收录在日本科学技术振兴机构数据库（JST）、中国核心期刊（遴选）数据库、中国学术期刊网络出版总库、重庆维普中文科技期刊数据库和超星数字图书馆；先后荣获《中国学术期刊（光盘版）检索与评价数据规范》执行优秀奖，第三、四届梁希林业图书期刊奖。
