Abstract
Recently, an outbreak of severe acute hepatitis of unknown etiology in children has been reported in more than 27 countries worldwide. However, information on its prevalence in different countries and regions is still lacking. The evidence is suggestive of a potential viral infection, but this has not been fully confirmed.
