Abstract

With the long awaited Scottish Waste Strategy in prospect, it is an appropriate time to look at some of the issues which have arisen in recent reported cases on waste management. The cases discussed below set the background against which the waste strategy will be implemented and indicate the prevailing trends in the law on waste management at present. Accordingly the following paragraphs aim to provide analysis of these developments and assess their significance in the wider context of the drive towards sustainable development.
