In LSFE techniques, using rotary burs showed the highest risk of SMP (surface under the cumulative ranking area [SUCRA] = 0.0745). In TSFE techniques, using reamers had the lowest risk of SMP (SUCRA = 0.9444). Increased SMP prevalence was significantly associated with reduced implant survival rate (odds ratio [OR] = 0.45 per 10% increase of SMP rate [95% credible interval (CreI): 0.21, 0.71], <i>P</i> < .001). <b>Conclusions:</b> With the inherent limitations, this network meta-analysis suggested that some techniques within either the LSFE or TSFE group may reduce SMP risk.
