Abstract

Rice has the unique ability to express α-amylase under anoxic conditions, a feature that is critical for successful anaerobic germination and growth. We examined α-amylase activity in 8 genotypes of rice (Oryza sativa L.) seed in laboratory condition, which showed different seedling establishment traits in field experiments, grown in anaerobic condition.
