Le contrôle vertical de différents étages écologiques chez les Q’eros

Abstract

This article deals with the exploitation of multiple ecological niches on the oriental cordillera of Peru by one of indigenous Quechua communities named Q’eros. In the exploitation of the three ecological zones of puna, quechua and ceja de selva, Q’eros had developed various strategies of production to prevent climatic risks and to assume the social and symbolic reproduction of the community. Analysis of two rituals show how the vertical control of ecological zones needs exchange between humans and between humans and gods.
