Novel and cost effective FACTS topologies have been proposed which are built upon existing equipment which makes use of static converters. The different HPFC configurations devised by the investigator have been implemented on an SMIB system and simulated using MATLAB/ SIMULINK. Abstract
Pilot installations of STATCOM and UPFC have been built, commissioned and installed in the recent years.
