Abstract

Empowering women is not just a duty but a need for bright future. Women make significant contribution to society .Empowerment is a process that helps people gain control over their own live communities and society. It is also a process which enables one to realise his or her own and power in all aspects of life. Self-help group are small voluntary association of women from the same socioeconomic background. With a purpose of solving their common problem through self-help and mutual help. Self-help group promote the welfare of women in rural society. The micro credit is one of the solution to promote the quality of life and socioeconomic development. Empowering women will transform the entire household and not the person alone. Empowerment of women bring equal status to women and economically dependent.
