Abstract
Nowadays, it is verified the necessity to assess factors that influence the urban occupation, currently discarded by the law due to the lack of in-depth studies to identify new areas to expansion. The goal of this paper is to map and define areas with potencial or restriction for expansion at Itabira-MG, considering legal, physical and socio-environmental aspects through the Geographic Information System (GIS) adopting the multicriteria analysis methodology.
