Abstract
High performance and visual telecommunications equipment based on network digitization have been introduced. Portable equipment such as portable telephones is also coming into wide use. This has resulted in many new requirements for power supplies for this equipment. This paper examines power supplies for these customer premises telecommunications equipment in Japan. The requirements, design concept, features and future work are described.
