Through the finite element analysis, the result that the intersecting line in pump head is the dangerous area to form crack is illustrated. On the basic of the model of pump head with crack established in the dangerous area, the distribution of stress and stress intensity factor in crack tip is obtained and the initial extension regularity of crack tip is conformed. The results show that the yield zone in crack tip concentrate on the surface of section chamber, and the type of semicircular crack in interesting line is I-II-III mixed mode, which the III crack is the primary factor to accelerate crack extension in the interesting line of pump head, under internal pressure.
