Abstract

Reducing the power of losses in modern DC systems, such as: DC lines `and DC links in systems with renewable energy sources, railway transport, etc. requires tools that can determine the causes of losses and determine their contribution. The development of power theories and related tools mainly takes place for AC lines. Currently, the power factor, introduced into practice at the end of the 19th, beginning of the 20th century, is widely used. In the modern interpretation, it is not applicable to DC systems. The authors propose to unify the concept of power factor.
