Abstract

To realize the real-time microwave tomography systems, three different 2×16 switch matrix systems, using solid-state microwave switching chips and coplanar waveguide (CPW) structures, are designed, constructed and tested. The first switch matrix system consists of two single pole 4 throw (SP4T) switch units and four 2×4 switching matrix units. The second one possesses the compact structure for the application of portable microwave tomography systems. The last one is consisted of two 1×2 switch units and two 2×8 switching matrix units. The insertion losses of these switch matrix systems are within the range of -5dB and the isolations are around -42dB when frequency is under 1GHz.
