It will give signal to the 8-channel relay which switches the relay ON/OFF, which is in turn connected with the appliances. For connecting the application with the smartphone, Bluetooth technology is used. Microcontroller used in this paper acts as a final controller and gives commands to the relay which finally controls the appliances.
