Abstract

The work substantiates the possibility of increasing the efficiency of lasers by smoothly expanding the radiation beam in the active substance. This makes it possible to use the energy of the active substance as efficiently as possible, avoiding the effect of saturation. A scheme of a laser resonator using the principle of smooth expansion of the radiation beam in the active substance is proposed. Recommendations are developed for the practical application of the proposed scheme and its variations in lasers of various ranges.
